Texas Roadhouse Steak Seasoning Recipe

Prep Time 2 minutes
Total Time 2 minutes
Servings: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a small bowl and whisk for about 30 seconds until the brown sugar is fully incorporated and the color is uniform.
  2. Use immediately by pressing about 1 tsp per side firmly onto a dry steak and resting for at least 30 minutes, or transfer to a sealed glass jar for storage.
  3. To finish a cooked steak, add a small pat of butter and a pinch of the seasoning blend over the top before serving.

Notes

This recipe makes enough for about 8 servings of steak, roughly 8 tsp total. The smoked paprika is the ingredient most likely to go stale first, so if the blend smells flat after a couple of months, that is usually the culprit and a good sign to mix a fresh batch. If you are scaling up, just keep all the ratios the same.
