Subway Tuna Salad Recipe

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 3 cans (5 oz each) chunk light tuna in water
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method

  1. Drain the tuna thoroughly from all 3 cans, pressing out as much liquid as possible, then add it to a medium bowl.
  2. Finely dice the 2 celery stalks into roughly 1/4-inch pieces and add them to the bowl.
  3. Add the 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tbsp lemon juice, and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Stir until fully combined, then season with 1/4 tsp salt to taste.
  4. Spoon onto bread of your choice, top with lettuce, tomato, and red onion, drizzle with sweet onion sauce if desired, and serve.

Notes

If your tuna salad tastes flat, a little extra lemon juice (just 1/2 tsp more) usually fixes it. You can make this up to a day ahead and keep it covered in the fridge. Give it a stir before using since the mayo can separate slightly overnight.
