Strawberry Refresher Starbucks Recipe

Prep Time 7 minutes
Total Time 7 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white grape juice
  • 1 tbsp hibiscus flower tea concentrate (or 2 hibiscus tea bags steeped in ¼ cup hot water, cooled)
  • 1 tsp green coffee extract
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1 cup ice
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Method

  1. Steep 2 hibiscus tea bags in ¼ cup boiling water for 5 minutes, remove the bags, and let the concentrate cool completely. Skip this step if using pre-made concentrate.
  2. In a large measuring cup or pitcher, stir together the 2 cups white grape juice, 1 tbsp hibiscus concentrate, 1 tsp green coffee extract, 1 tbsp granulated sugar, 1 tsp lemon juice, and ½ cup cold water for 30 seconds until the sugar dissolves and the liquid is an even color. Taste and adjust lemon juice if needed.
  3. Add the ¼ cup freeze-dried strawberries to the pitcher, stir once gently, and let them sit for 2 minutes to soften slightly and release color.
  4. Divide 1 cup of ice between 2 tall glasses, pour the strawberry base slowly over the ice, and float a few extra freeze-dried strawberry slices on top before serving.

Notes

This recipe is best made fresh, but the base keeps in the fridge for up to 2 days without the ice or freeze-dried strawberries added. The green coffee extract is mild and tasteless in the final drink, so don't skip it if you want the gentle caffeine kick of the original. If your finished drink looks too pale, your hibiscus concentrate was likely too diluted — brew it a touch longer next time.
