Honey BBQ Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method
 

  1. Whisk the ketchup, honey, and brown sugar together in a saucepan off the heat, then whisk in the vinegar and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  2. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt, then bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, about 3 minutes.
  3. Lower the heat and simmer gently for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
  4. Pour the warm sauce over cooked wings and toss until fully coated and glossy.

Notes

This sauce keeps for 2 weeks in the fridge, so it's worth making a double batch if you're already got the saucepan out. If you like a thinner sauce for dipping rather than tossing, just pull it off the heat a couple of minutes early.
