Ingredients
Method
- Squeeze 6 to 7 lemons to get 1 cup of juice and strain it through a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp.
- Combine the 1 cup sugar, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir for 3 to 4 minutes until the sugar is fully dissolved and the liquid is clear. Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.
- Pour the 1 cup lemon juice and cooled simple syrup into a large pitcher. Add the 3 cups cold water and stir for 20 to 30 seconds until fully combined. Taste and adjust with extra lemon juice if needed.
- Fill glasses with ice, pour the lemonade over the top, and finish each glass with a lemon wheel or wedge on the rim.
Notes
The simple syrup can be made up to 2 weeks ahead and stored in a sealed jar in the fridge, which makes this a very fast pour when you need it. If you are making a big batch for a gathering, wait to add ice to the pitcher and let guests pour over ice in their own glasses so nothing gets watered down.
