Chick-fil-A Icedream Recipe

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Method

  1. Whisk whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, corn syrup, salt, and cornstarch together in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches 170°F, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  2. Strain the hot base through a fine-mesh strainer into a large bowl, stir in the vanilla extract, then press plastic wrap against the surface and refrigerate until below 40°F, at least 4 hours.
  3. Pour the cold base into your ice cream maker and churn for 20 to 25 minutes until it reaches a thick, soft-serve consistency.
  4. Serve immediately in cones or cups for soft serve, or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 2 hours for scoopable ice cream. Drizzle with chocolate sauce and serve.

Notes

The base can be made up to 3 days ahead and kept in the fridge, which makes this easy to plan around a warm-weather dinner. If your churned ice cream seems looser than expected, your base was likely a degree or two too warm — just freeze the churned batch for 1 hour and it will firm up fine.
