Berry Sangria Recipe

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 2 minutes
Total Time 12 minutes
Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine
  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds

Method

  1. Combine 3 tbsp granulated sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir for about 2 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely, then remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the 1 bottle (750 ml) red wine, 1 cup cranberry juice, 1/2 cup brandy, and 1/4 cup triple sec into a large pitcher. Add the cooled simple syrup and stir for 30 seconds. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. Add the 1 cup frozen strawberries and 1 cup frozen mixed berries to the pitcher and stir gently once to distribute them.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (2 hours preferred). Pour into ice-filled glasses, scoop berries into each glass, and garnish with orange rounds on the rim.

Notes

This sangria is best made a few hours ahead, so the flavors have time to come together properly. If you are prepping the night before, hold off on adding the berries until the morning of serving so they do not break down completely. Any leftover sangria keeps well covered in the fridge for up to 2 days.
